Build 1 — The value champion (Intel Arc B580)
The best price-to-performance build on the list. The Arc B580’s 12GB frame buffer is its trump card at this price — it sidesteps the 8GB VRAM ceiling that hampers similarly priced Nvidia and AMD cards in modern titles, and Intel’s drivers have matured a long way since launch.

A note on the 2026 pricing landscape
Two things are worth understanding before you buy:
RAM and SSDs are the expensive part right now. The AI-driven demand for memory has pushed DDR5 and NAND prices well above their 2024 lows — a 32GB DDR5-6000 kit that cost around £90 eighteen months ago now sits closer to £150–£160. If you can wait, prices are forecast to ease later in 2026; if you can’t, starting at 16GB and adding a second kit later is a sensible hedge.
GPUs have normalised. The RTX 5060, 5060 Ti, Arc B580 and RX 9060 XT are all available at or near their real prices, which is why every build above leans on the GPU as the centrepiece. The Arc B580 in particular is the value standout at this budget thanks to its 12GB of VRAM.
