How to check what CPU and motherboard I have installed

Hello everyone,

For those who are wondering how to find out what CPU and motherboard are installed in their system, here are few steps.

App you will need: HWInfo

  1. Download and install HWInfo and open it (see picture below)

2. Once you open it, will show other 2-3 dialogue windows which you can close. Just keep the big app open (check photo)

3. On the left hand side, you will have multiple choices: central procesor (CPU), motherboard, memory, video adapter,etc. In here, we are interested in finding what CPU and motherboard are we using, so the first 2 choices we need to check. (check photo for CPU).

4. Next step is to find out what motherboard are we using (check photo).

5. Final step is to find out what BIOS version are we using for the motherboard. (see picture below)

In case you BIOS version is outdated, you will need to install new BIOS version from manufacturer website. Here’s a tutorial on how to update BIOS on every motherboard.
